Santa baby, slip a sable under the tree for me
Been an awful good girl
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa baby, a '54 convertible too convertible too, light blue
I'll wait up for you, dear
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa what we really want … is a RALLY! So what is a Santa Rally? A Santa Rally is a market effect that is a rise in stock prices (a ‘gift’ from Santa) in the last 5 trading days of the year and the first 2 trading days of January. Experts are in agreement that 2019 should be expecting a visit from the big fat man in the red suit!
Since 1969, on average, has enjoyed a 1.3% gain during the Santa Rally when they occur. While this isn’t a large gain it is considered to be a predictor of what to expect in the coming year. Currently, the markets are giving us positive returns so it looks like Santa Claus is coming to town and paying a visit to Broad & Wall! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
