Book Review: Money Tales
Looking for a good way to teach your kids about financial topics or a Christmas gift that keeps on giving for your children or grandchildren? Take a peak at the Money Tales series from Sheila Bair. This author has some serious finance credentials. Sheila Bair, the former Chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and current Chair of Fannie Mae, put together a beautiful and whimsical set of books to help children learn some valuable lessons about finances.
Each book of her 5 books tells a fun story about the topic at hand and then takes it one step further to take a deeper dive. Her deepest wish is to “help families avoid money problems so they can live financially secure, happy lives”. Children read about the misadventures of Princess Persephone, Arlene the Giant Tortoise, Billy the Blue-Fotted Booby and Rock Brock and Isabel. The books are great for 7-10 year old children. They had my son laughing and asking many questions. The 5 books can be found on Amazon and are:
- Isabel’s Car Wash
- Shark Scam
- Princess Persephone’s Dragon Ride Stand
- Billy the Borrowing Blue-Footed Booby
- Rock, Brock, and the Savings Shock
